Vegetables That Your Skin Will Love

I will be sharing with you how vegetables can improve your skin with today’s blog article. Hello there! It’s Esther The Esthetician here with another blog article for you 🙂 So far, I have shared the top four (4) Vegetables with you: Sweet Potatoes, Pumpkin, Winter Squash, and Avocado. Today, we will be shifting our focus to another one of my favorite fruit/vegetables… Carrots

With today’s blog, we will be discussing the fifth (5th) vegetable in our series of top 10 vegetables that your skin will love, why your love will love them, and most importantly how you can start to add them to your meal plan starting today

Our focus for Today’s article is none other than…

Carrots. Eating carrots can provide your skin with a natural sunscreen.

Why Your Skin Will Love Carrots

Beta-carotene is found in carrots which can help your body to form collagen and regenerate your skin cells.

If you’re anything like me, you probably grew up hearing that eating carrots helps with your vision… You probably never heard how great eating carrots was for your overall health.

Now that you know eating carrots helps more than just your eyes – It’s great for the overall health of your skin… What will you do differently?

Do you know why rabbits eat carrots? well, it’s not because rabbits naturally eat them in the will. Despite being big diggers, they don’t really eat root vegetables or really anything they can’t just forage from whatever they can reach and quickly stuff in their mouth in case they needed to escape from a predator.

Did you know the connection with rabbits and carrots mostly came from Bugs Bunny and his addiction? This was doing the time when people thought smoking cigarets/having one in your mouth just because was “cool”. Let’s not forget, it was legal to smoke anywhere. If you didn’t have one in your mouth, you simply didn’t look “cool”. The photo of Marlene Dietrich in 1937 “Angel” make smoking appealing to some.

Bugs Bunny was drawn eating a carrot back in the days as an impersonation of Clark Gable from it happened one night.

Although Rabbits are herbivores, they don’t normally eat carrots and can’t survive on a carrot diet alone – the same way as humans we simply cannot survive on a candy only diet. – It’s just empty calories.

If you weren’t consuming carrots because you felt eating carrots was for rabbits, I want you to think again.

How Can you start to Incorporate Avocados Into your Regimen?

  • Toss chunks of carrots and parsnips with a little olive oil or vegetable broth, salt and pepper and roast in a 400 degree Fahrenheit oven until browned and fork-tender. Sprinkle it with freshly chopped herbs and serve as a side dish with a rotisserie chicken… or without if you’re vegetarian.
  • Chopped/sliced carrots make the best snacks in my opinion
  • Enjoy some carrot juice – Like an Island gal, I grew on consuming homemade carrot back in the days when I live in Haiti.
  • Mix the carrots with garlic, onions, and celery as a building block for the daily and weekly recipes you make and enjoy.

Adding carrots to any meal will add a healthy dose of flavor, color, and sweetness.

Did you Know Carrots last a lot longer

Did you know that carrots last a really long time in the crisper drawer of your refrigerator? So, but a big bag and with them for weeks. If you purchased your carrots with the leafy green tops, be sure to remove that part. doing so will keep the leafy tops from drawing out all of the moisture from your carrots.
