Tips for DIY Spa Facial from home – Skin Care Tips for Acne Prone Skin –

I recommend a Professional Treatment every 3-4 Weeks for maximum results.


Professional treatments alone will not get you results. Home care is crucial if you really want to see physical results faster. remember this stat 1:59.

You see a licensed esthetician 1x per month, however, you have 59 opportunities to take care of your skin at home.  better yet, Think about this… You see a dentist once every 6 months for a deep clean… Do you stop brushing your teeth consistently in between your dental appointment? I hope not!! lol

I’ve put together some tips for a DIY Spa day from home.

The first step of your facial is the most important. Cleansing removes dirt, oil and makeup to give your skin a “clean slate.” 

1-2x per day –> Morning & Night





Now that your face is squeaky clean, it’s time to exfoliate. Exfoliating is imperative for creating a healthier, smoother appearance.

This not only helps with evening out the look of your skin tone but also with refining the look of your pores, smoothing out the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improving your skin’s feel. Exfoliating also greatly increases product penetration.

Technique: Apply a dime-sized amount of scrub, such as the Pore Refining Scrub. to the skin and then use upward, circular motions with light pressure for 1-2 minutes. 

1-2x per week –> Preferably in the evening or before bed.





When steam enters the facial, this is when the home spa vibe really gets going. To me, steam is the most relaxing and cleansing part of a facial. It opens the skin follicles (pores).

How to steam: The easiest way to steam is to bring water to a boil in a large pot. Take a towel and drape it over your head and slowly lean your face over the pot so that your face is directly over the steam. (Be careful to not get too close!) It should feel warm, not hot.

Steam for 10-15 minutes, with intermittent breaks if you need. If you have sensitive skin or rosacea, steaming may not be ideal for your skin type.

4—EXTRACTIONS ** Leave this to the Pros**

At-home popping can create a slew of problems, making professional care vital in acne treatment.

I know it’s tempting to want to extract your blackheads, but as a licensed professional I recommend only getting extracted by a Licensed esthetician. I say this because extracting incorrectly can result in tearing and/or scarring the skin.

Schedule an Acne or complexion Correction facial treatment.




After all of those deep cleaning steps, it’s time for some pampering. Now you can relax and give your skin some tender loving care! The treatment mask is the heart of any facial. This is when your skin is most ready to receive yummy nutrients since it’s just been cleansed, exfoliated and steamed.

Apply your mask using a brush and leave it on for 10-20 minutes.

(Now would be the time to place cucumber slices or a warm tea bag on the eyes if you really want to get into it!) Remove the mask with a warm washcloth and splash your skin with cold water after.

1-2x per week –> As part of your spa day treatment.




Continue by applying the same steps you’d complete in your daily facial routine.

7—MOISTURIZE (Rebalance/Clearskin)

Let’s put some pep in this final step and seal everything with a Moisturizing is an essential step for the face and around the eyes, massage deeply into the skin for 1-2 minutes.

1-2x per day –> Morning & Night





(Weightless Protection Sunscreen)

Remember to use a broad spectrum SPF 30 like the weightless protection sunscreen)– Dime size amount.
UVA= Aging

1x per day –> Morning




Daily: Cleanse, Moisturize, Treat & Apply Sunscreen –> about 2x per day… Morning & Night.

Weekly: Diy Spa Day at home–> Cleanse, Exfoliate, Steam, Mask, Treat, Moisturize and apply sunscreen if needed.
