That depends on you! can you be consistent? Can you afford to get the right products for your skin type and/or condition? Like anything else in life, it’s possible, however, if you don’t put in the work, it will not work out. For example; you cannot say you want clear skin and then turn around and do everything else that will keep you from getting clear. Equally, You have to be committed mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Once you make up in your mind, that you want; clear, smooth, and even skin (and truly mean it) then, nothing will stand in your way or stop you.
In some cases yes! Acne scars can become permanent. That is why, it is important, for you to take care of your skin on a regular basis. Doing so, will minimize your chances of acne, thereby, reducing your chances significantly, of experiencing acne scars. I wrote a blog recently about the different types of acne scars. I recommend reading this blog next. Do you understand what type of acne scars you’re working with? For example, brown spot, boxcar, ice pick, Rolling, keloids… here’s a quick summary of a blog article I wrote a little while back…
The following types of scar occur on acne prone skin:
Acne scars love inviting themselves in! The worse part, they are typically slow to leave. Acne is usually a temporary problem, but acne scars can be permanent. “ I really want acne scars that never disappear”, said no one ever. scars are part of the skin’s normal healing process after it has been damaged by a wound or injury. Most wounds heal fast without scarring. However, some of them have a mind of their own… they don’t understand when enough is enough.
This is how I personally cleared my acne scar twice now! The first time, it was stressed induced. The last time it was medication-induced. I’m sharing my skin story to inspire you to be consistent and don’t give up.
Let’s find out what really caused those unwanted acne/acne scars. Acne scars are usually the result of inflamed blemishes caused by skin pores with excess Sebum (oil), dead skin cells, and bacteria. Here’s what really happens… your pores swell, causing a break in the hair follicle wall. some lesions are usually minor and heal fairly quickly.
Let’s find out if acne scars can actually be removed… In some cases, your esthetician, doctor, and/or dermatologist may suggest a chemical peel or microdermabrasion treatment to help improve the appearance of scarred areas. These milder treatments can be done right in the office/treatment room. For serious scarring from previous bouts with acne, several types of treatment can be combined to help remove the acne scars or ingrown hairs.
For starters, treating dark spots from acne is different than treating acne scars. Scars require tissue to be damaged or overgrown. Also, scars are difficult to fully remove, and while they may fade over time, some usually remain visible to some extent. And most importantly, it will not happen overnight. You have to be committed and really see results.
Dark spots from acne, on the other hand, are flat against the surface of your skin. They don’t indicate any long-term damage to your skin cells, pores, or follicles.
It can take a while, but dark spots tend to become lighter over time, and eventually go away completely. It can take anywhere from 3 months to 2 years for them to fully go away for good!… Unless you start breaking out again…
That doesn’t mean you have to wait forever in hopes that your dark spots will fade. There are plenty of home remedies, over-the-counter (OTC) products, and even dermatology and esthetician treatments – you can try, to get rid of them quickly.
